CMS Launches Its Inaugural Webinar
The Carbon Management Society will host its first official webinar, featuring Robin Mills, one of the most respected voices in energy and carbon management.
Synthetic fuels are crucial for tackling climate change - meeting the need for energy-dense fuels capable of powering aeroplanes, rockets and ships over long distances.
Technically-viable pathways from low-carbon hydrogen and biogenic or atmospheric carbon dioxide have been demonstrated to produce fuels such as methanol, ammonia and synthetic hydrocarbons.
But these have struggled to scale up because of high production costs.
Now, the war in the Gulf has raised oil and natural gas prices and exposed serious vulnerabilities in the global petroleum supply chain.
Does this close the commerciality gap with synthetic fuels?
What is now the implied carbon price and security premium for their viability?
Can the emerging synthetic fuels industry take advantage of this window of opportunity, and establish itself as a cost-competitive, secure and clean part of global transport?
Join us on June 15 to discuss these topics.
