Publishing Guidelines for Member Submissions
The Carbon Management Society (CMS) welcomes original articles, reports, and opinion pieces from its members that contribute to informed, science-based discussion on carbon management and climate-related topics. These guidelines set out the expectations, review process, and responsibilities associated with publishing content on the CMS platform.
1. Scope and Relevance
​Submissions should be aligned with the mission and Founding Principles of CMS and relate to topics including, but not limited to:

Carbon management, emissions reduction, avoidance, or removal

Climate policy, regulation, and market design

Carbon markets and mechanisms
-
Emerging technologies, research, and innovation
-
Industry practices, case studies, and lessons learned
CMS encourages diverse perspectives, provided they are presented in a professional, respectful, and evidence-based manner.
2. Originality and Authorship​

Submissions must be original work or clearly identify and reference previously published material where applicable.

Authors must ensure they hold the rights to submit the content and that publication does not breach any confidentiality, contractual, or intellectual property obligations.

All submissions will be published under the author’s name(s), with affiliation disclosed where relevant.
3. Editorial Review Process

All submissions are subject to editorial review by CMS to ensure alignment with these guidelines and with the Society’s mission.

CMS may contact authors to seek clarification, request minor edits, or suggest refinements prior to publication.

CMS reserves the right to decline publication of content that does not meet its standards or is inconsistent with its Founding Principles.
Editorial review does not constitute endorsement of the views expressed.

Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the content they submit.

7. Rights and Use
By submitting content for publication, authors grant CMS a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to publish, distribute, and promote the content on its website and associated communication channels, with full attribution.
