Carbon Management Society Opens Global Membership Platform to Accelerate Science-Based Climate Action
Melbourne, Australia – 18 February 2026
The Carbon Management Society (CMS) today announced the official launch of its global website and membership platform, marking the next phase in the Society’s mission to advance practical, science-based carbon management worldwide.
Following its incorporation in November 2025, CMS now opens its doors to individual professionals, academic institutions, government representatives and organisations committed to credible, measurable and economically sound carbon management solutions.
The launch establishes CMS as an active global platform for knowledge exchange, professional engagement and policy dialogue, designed to move beyond rhetoric and toward implementation.
“Carbon management must become a disciplined, science-based field of practice,” said Dr Dorel Iosif, Co-Founder and Chairman of CMS. “With the launch of our membership platform, we are building a serious international community of professionals focused not on slogans, but on delivery, reducing, removing and avoiding emissions through practical and scalable solutions.”
CMS is built on four foundational pillars: Education, Advocacy, Engagement and Impact. Through its newly launched Knowledge Hub and CMS Exchange, the Society will publish articles, reports and op-eds, convene expert webinars, and foster cross-sector collaboration among industry, finance, policy and academia.
As part of its forward agenda, CMS is preparing its inaugural CMS Summit & Awards, to be announced in due course, which will recognise leadership and innovation in carbon management globally.
Headquartered in Australia with founding directors representing multiple regions including the Middle East, Europe and Asia-Pacific, CMS operates as an independent, not-for-profit organisation committed to scientific integrity and constructive dialogue. The Society provides a neutral platform that integrates diverse carbon management pathways including carbon capture and storage, enhancement of natural sinks such as forests, soils and oceans, direct air capture, mineralisation, methane abatement and energy optimisation under a unified framework.
Foundational members joining during this early stage will play a formative role in shaping the Society’s direction and standards as it grows.
